Skills progress- Making of the swing

As you can see from these photos I took, mason and Theo are making the main prop in our film, the swing.  This was a very long process, we brought the plank of wood from B&Q for £6.99 and the rope we used, was from the school which was the 'tug of war rope' here we can see mason drilling two holes either side of the wood to fit the rope threw. Mason learned a lot here for example he managed to identify what drill to use and was confident enough to work the drill. We did have a little help from the care taker because we wanted to make sure what we was doing was safe and if we needed help we could ask him any type of questions.

The rope was very long which meant Mason and Theo had to climb up the tree and wrap the rope round and round. Although this may seem quite dangerous we made sure we had a few friends to help and assist us, this was a positive thing as this meant the swing would be very safe and strong. We wanted to be very safe as no one clearly wanted to get hurt. although the rope was very long and old it made the swing look much more haunted and scary.  We kept to our original idea throughout the making of the swing, we said from the begging where we would buy the wood from and where we would get the rope from, we planned very well and i think this was why the idea of using and creating a swing worked,
