Research into logos

There are many small production companies that work within the major studios. Due to the genre of our film being a horror we plan on making a logo that is similar to other horror logos. For this I'll look at production companies that just produce horror films and make a logo that is like them.

Blumhouse productions is one of the biggest and most successful horror production companies with producing films such as Paranormal Activity, The Purge, Insidious and Sinister. They have made The Insidious and Sinister franchises from just £15,000 budgets and they've made a world wide gross of $200 million world wide. They have made a massive 1.2 billion US Dollars world wide. (Source from http://blumhouse.com/about.php)

Ghost house is also a successful production company. They've produced more classical horror films such as The Grudge and The Boogeyman. Two similarities between these logos are that they are both very dark and have neutral text but are both quite faded. The Ghost house pictures logo contains a skull which could be seen as a classic horror convention. They produce more 'classic' horror films in the way their films are made, the skull shows that the company must specialise in horror films.
For our 2 minute clip we'll use a logo similar to the both of these, it'll have a black background with faded text and a we'll possibly have some sort of horror item in the background such as a knife.
